Laser hair removal targets hair follicles directly reducing both growth and density. Advanced intense pulsed light (IPL) technology gives the flexibility to treat a wider range of skin types than ever before. After a few sessions, you’ll find the need to wax or shave to be a very rare occasion.
This is the hassle-free alternative to painful Brazilian waxing or the nicks and scrapes of frequent shaving. Treatment consists of a short multi-session program of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy usually spaced within a two month window. Each session last about 15 minutes and requires no special aftercare. You are free to work out, be intimate or go swimming as you wish. The exact number of sessions is determined by your skin type and hair density.
For your convenience, you may schedule Mons Pubis Laser Hair Removal along with other Spa procedures at the same session.
How It Works
The light energy emitted by intense pulsed light and laser technologies is absorbed by the hair follicles
in the form of heat. This thermal energy kills the hair follicle.
Dark hair absorbs this energy best and people with dark hair usually have a more dramatic response than those with lighter hair.
Melanin, the chemical which gives skin its color, also absorbs this thermal energy. If the skin has a high content of melanin, it can absorb a high amount of thermal energy. If it absorbs too much thermal energy it can burn.
Dark or suntanned skin has more melanin than lighter skin and this limits the effectiveness of IPL or laser hair removal in these conditions.
Does it require anesthesia?
Laser hair removal does not require anesthesia so long as the skin is kept cool during the procedure. To achieve this, a jet of cold air is directed at the treatment site throughout the session. Discomfort is very uncommon.
